Staterooms on the Sun Dancer 2 are naturally smaller than a hotel room, but spacious for a liveaboard.  All are nicely appointed, and many feature picture windows.  All staterooms have ensuite bathrooms, toiletries, hairdryers, flat screen TVs and DVD players, and individual air conditioning controls. Sheets are changed mid-week and towels are freshened daily.

Morning beverage service is served to your stateroom, and nightly turndown service is provided in your stateroom with a mint on your pillow.

Just off Belize’s coast is the second largest barrier reef in the world. The reef offers pristine diving and the atolls beyond the reef are truly paradise.  The marine life that inhabits the barrier reef is extraordinary and diverse…everything from schools of tarpon, turtles and stingrays to a wide variety of tropical species, and of course, the famed Blue Hole.  The walls and drop-offs are spectacular. Turneffe Islands and Lighthouse Reef boast much of the best diving in Belize.

On the Sun Dancer 2, dives are prioritized for quality vs. quantity.  Dive deck services include hanging up your wetsuit and rinsing your dive gear, handling your valuable camera equipment with care, and warm towels will be draped around your shoulders after your dive.  In addition, hot chocolate (with or without alcohol) is passed around after each night dive.

Dive safety is the highest priority, and the diving crew will give detailed dive briefings, check currents and temperatures before the dives and be in the water on every dive.  Also, the crew monitors the vessel round the clock with a 24-hour watch schedule, and weekly safety drills assure that guests and crew are prepared in the unlikely event of an emergency.

Enjoy a morning beverage delivered to your stateroom, and partake of delicious freshly prepared breakfasts and lunches served buffet style in the salon.  Dinner is a fine dining experience with plated meals served to the table and a choice of entrees several nights per week.

It’s also the best departure point for discovering the ecological parks such as Chankanaab, the archeological sites, the tropical jungles inhabited by a wide range of animal species, and to discover secret beaches for diving and exploring the depths of an ocean full of surprises.

Fiesta Americana Resort:  Dining

On-site dining options include an international restaurant with sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea, a casual buffet restaurant, and a lobby bar.

The Reef Restaurant - Located on the beach side of the street, this restaurant has an outdoor terrace. It offers buffet breakfasts and à la carte Mexican and American lunches, plus views of the hotel pool, ocean, and boat dock.

Hacienda Miramar - The hotel’s international and Mexican specialty restaurant is open for dinner only (seasonal). It is located on the third floor of the hotel and has air-conditioning and a romantic yet casual atmosphere. Linen tablecloths, candles, and live ambient music. Reservations suggested.

Tropical Forest - Serving buffet breakfasts and buffet dinners (seasonal), this open-air restaurant is next to the main swimming pool. The menu varies according to the nightly theme, which ranges from Italian to Caribbean to Mexican. The restaurant also provides poolside service and a swim-up bar.

Dive Bar - The hotel’s lobby bar has a thatched roof and is located between the main lobby and the pool deck. The bar has a pool table and a Ping-Pong table. Occasional live music.

Matangi Island offers split-level Tree Houses, Beachfront and Island Bures, and a spacious Villa, perfect for families (kids must be 12 or older), couples traveling together, or small groups.

Matangi Island Resort:  Diving

Matangi is the most centrally located of all Fiji’s northern island resorts to the exceptional scuba diving sites that Fiji is famous for.  Within a 20-mile radius of Matangi Island are countless dive sites, including the world famous Great White Wall and Noel’s Wall.  To ensure the best diving experience, dive sites are chosen according to daily tidal movements and prevailing weather conditions.

Their daily dive program includes two morning tanks.  They also offer a 5 day/10 tank package.  Equipment rental is available at a charge.  The dive boat departs Matangi Island daily around 8:30 am and returns to the island for lunch.  Day trips to the more remote sites in the Somo Somo Strait can be arranged with a minium of 6 divers - fuel surcharge applicable.

Diving at Matangi is both diverse and exciting. Numerous off-shore reefs, spectacular coral formations including multitudes of hard and soft corals and plummeting walls provide a unique habitat for a rich and vibrant marine life.

Matangi Island Resort:  Other Activities

Matangi Island is a small intimate boutique resort with limited onsite activities, but they do offer kayaking, snorkeling, windsurfing, catamaran sailing, volleyball, hiking, and tours of the island and a local village. There is also a multimedia room (air conditioned) with a 48″ LCD TV and a selection of DVDs.

For an additional charge, you can also choose from off-site snorkeling excursions, water skiing, an introductory scuba class, a hike to the locally famous waterfalls, a Coastal Walk, a trip to a local pearl farm, a visit to the Waitabu Marine Park, or a “Fijian” experience guided tour that includes tales of ancient fijian culture.

At Matangi the cuisine is largely influenced by the tropical surroundings, Fijian heritage, and the unique flavours of the South Pacific.  You are heralded by the beat of the traditional Fijian Lali drum signifying the commencement of an important
event, Meal Time!

Meals are served in the magnificent “Vale-Ni-Kana” Dining Room.  Built only yards from the pristine beach, this stunning complex boasts 270-degree views of the ocean and the exquisitely landscaped tropical gardens.  The exotic meals feature an array of fresh fish and seafood caught by local fishermen, imported meats, salads, locally grown vegetables, tropical fruit from surrounding gardens, freshly baked breads and sumptuous desserts. Daily menus are planned using the finest and freshest ingredients available. Special dietary needs are happily catered to.

Complimentary tea, coffee and fresh baked cookies are available at all times in the Vale-Ni-Kana Dining Room. Casa del Mar offers 98 Mexican Caribbean rooms in a 3 story building, located in a beautiful garden with a Mexican town feeling. Casa del Mar offers you a choice between a Ocean view room, Deluxe Cabaña or our Casa Ceiba Jr. Suite.

All guestrooms are carefully decorated and filled with plants. There is a relaxing fountain in the center of the building. Standard amenities included private bath with shower, air conditioning, cable TV with remote control and direct dial telephone. Racks for diving equipment, Iron and Ironing boards, CD player, Hairdryer are provided in some guestrooms.

Casa Del Mar Resort:  Other Activities

Casa Del Mar is a small boutique resort with limited onsite activities  There is a tennis court, game room, and a pool with a pool bar.

However, Cozumel is a tourist’s paradise, with numerous opportunities for tours, excursions, and activities - you name it and it’s likely to be found on Cozumel.  Although not included in the price of your stay at Casa Del Mar, many fun activities await you - shop, swim with dolphins, ride in a submarine, golf, go sailing or fishing, or visit a water adventure park, and much more.

Beqa Lagoon Resort offers 25 deluxe, private air-conditioned Bures (mini-suites) spread out beneath the lush tropical landscape. Each of these generously sized mini-suites are beautifully appointed with traditional island décor.
